Ireland’s largest regatta will take place from Thursday, July 6th to Sunday, July 9th 2023  and, as the NOR revealed, the biennial regatta is planned to coincide with ‘Coastival’, a new week-long festival celebrating Dun Laoghaire’s Maritime heritage, presented by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.

Since it first set sail in 2005, Dun Laoghaire Regatta has grown biennially and showcases the very best of Irish sailing action on the water. The well-proven 4-day format will be used once more for the 2023 event, with up to five race courses in operation – the last edition in 2019 comprised over 300 sailing races across 30 classes and 2,500 competitors ranging from Olympic and world-class professionals to weekend sailors drawn from Ireland and overseas.

Race Director for VDLR 2023 will once again be Con Murphy IRO, who will be assisted by Ireland’s most experienced Olympic, International and National Race Officers.

Registration Times

Each boat skipper or a representative is required to register in person at the Regatta Race Office on the Carlisle Pier before racing. The Regatta Race Office will be situated in a marquee on the Carlisle Pier.
